Speakers: 
Alan Lavery, Director, Consulting, Connected Data & AI – KPMG 

Alan is a Consulting Director with 23 years of advisory and consulting experience, working with Irish, UK and International businesses.  A Chartered Civil Engineer by background, Alan leads KPMG’s Belfast Centre of Excellence and specialises in the appraisal, design and implementation of data strategies, data solutions and the adoption of Artificial Intelligence across a wide variety of business types.  In this role, he’s become passionate about the use of data, the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and analytical solutions.

 

 

 

Raj Logan, Director, UK & Ireland Privacy / Global AI and Digital Compliance – GSK 

Raj has worked in the Pharmaceutical sector for nearly two decades in spanning many roles and functions, including as a scientist in R&D, project manager in a management consultancy and internal business development consultant. Since joining GSK 9 years ago, Raj’s roles have covered risk and compliance roles, including global privacy roles in Procurement and R&D. His current role is privacy adviser for the UK and Ireland businesses, and continues to support GSK’s AI and Digital governance framework.

 

 

 

Dr Calum Yacoubian, Director Healthcare Strategy, Applied AI Science – IQVIA

Calum is a medical doctor who trained and practiced in the UK before moving into medical technology and AI.
Over the past 10 years, Calum has worked with different AI technologies in order to transform healthcare data into clinically actionable insights and decision support. Having worked extensively in language based AI (Natural Language Processing), Calum is very excited about the potential of generative AI to transform healthcare. He and his team work at the forefront of this area within the healthcare domain, looking to apply rigor to these technologies in order that they can be reliably used in healthcare settings.  Calum is passionate about working at the intersection of AI and healthcare, and enjoys working with others who share this calling. He is proud to have worked on projects that have received acclaim in prominent clinical journals, and was even part of a Guinness World Record breaking effort for rapid genetic diagnosis in acutely ill infants.

 

 
Brian Larkin, Founder – AgencyX 

Brian is a marketing specialist with over 20 years’ experience developing brand strategies for some of the world’s leading brands in Healthcare, FMCG and Financial Services in Ireland, UK, Mainland Europe, and Oceania. 
Brian is the co-founder and director of Agency X, the Dublin based marketing agency specializing in Omnichannel approach strategies for the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical sectors.

 

 

 

Darina Sexton, Head of Communications – Microsoft Ireland 

Darina joined Microsoft in 2018 and spearheads all internal and external comms for the Irish Subsidiary. Her extensive 20-year career spans all areas of corporate affairs in both senior and leadership roles across telecoms, pharma, and retail. At Microsoft, her innovative communication strategies have bolstered customer and partner relations, helping establish the company in the Irish market as a thought leader in AI, the future of work, and security.
Her crisis management acumen shone during the pandemic, her creative storytelling continues to drive thought leadership in the Irish market, and she is recognised for being a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team. Darina’s tenure at Tesco, MSD, and Vodafone is marked by significant achievements, including awards for public affairs and social media campaigns.
Darina holds a Master of Business Studies from the IMI, diplomas in Digital Marketing, Management, and Public Relations, in addition to a Master of Arts and an International Bachelor of Arts from UCD.  She is an advocate for environmental issues and women in STEM, she serves on the board of Le Cheile, a charity that provides mentoring for young offenders.
